"Different than i thought, but its good.. really good."
Release in October, Presave Below

"After taking an audio production class in early 2024 and experimenting with music creation in 2022-23, I turned my limited knowledge into a album project. Later that year, a trip to the Appalachian Mountains became my inspiration after researching regional music and experiencing the culture firsthand. Many tracks are instrumental by design, reflecting atmosphere over any lyrics. As a new artist without access to a microphone or MIDI gear, the entire album was made without MIDI, using a free, open version of FL Studio. With custom canvases and a wealth of tracks, the project taught me even if it didn’t gain attention. The total budget was $100-250, and the experience only fuels my next step forward. -Ty Gormanous"

"One week after Somewhere Appalachia dropped, I immediately began work on my next album. Inspired by projects that embraced House and pop twists, I chose to center this record on the fear of growing up, the grief of losing childhood, and the sense that my hometown’s best days belong to the past. I use music to go back to my history and preserve memories of family and the place I call(ed) home. -Ty Gormanous

About me
Ty Gormanous
My name is Ty Gormanous, and I make electronic and synth-pop music under the name Ty. For a long time, making music was a big struggle for me. I had a hard time figuring out my actual sound and kept doubting my own ideas. Eventually, I realized I needed to stop hiding behind messy effects and just make clear, honest music. Getting to that point took a lot of frustration and trial and error, but it pushed me to grow up and finally trust my own music.
Finishing my projects Somewhere Appalachia and soon to be finished Portrait of god really showed me how much I have changed. Working on those tracks forced me to face my creative roadblocks instead of giving up. Living and writing here in Silverdale, Washington, I am finally making music that sounds like me. I am still learning, but I am proud of the dark, clean electronic sound I am creating now because it shows exactly who I am and how far I have come. -Ty Gormanous
