"One week after Somewhere Appalachia dropped, I immediately began work on my next album. Inspired by projects that embraced House and pop twists, I chose to center this record on the fear of growing up, the grief of losing childhood, and the sense that my hometown’s best days belong to the past. I use music to go back to my history and preserve memories of family and the place I call(ed) home. -Ty Gormanous

After months of work on Portrait of God, I composed this piece to represent my relationship with my sister: we were age-separated during childhood, and her unkindness toward me informed the song. It conveys the emotions I experienced and recalls memories of watching Winnie the Pooh and identifying with Eeyore. As an adult I continue to feel separated. This composition deliberately incorporates multiple spoken samples from Winnie the Pooh to symbolize these feelings. - Ty G

"Palmer House reminds me of some of M83’s more emotionally charged work. One of my favorite bands, so to hear another musician able to encapsulate rich emotion in a two-and-a-half-minute track is amazing. While this isn’t the lead single from their second album, if it’s anything to go by, it’s a project to keep an eye out for."
Palmer House is the latest single from musician Ty. The single comes after the creation of their second album’s lead single, Portrait of God. This is my first time listening to Ty, and I’m blown away by the emotional journey they take you on with Palmer House.
